Overview:
The Risk Prevention, Patient Safety and Employee Health Nurse will employ nursing knowledge and technical savvy to provide exceptional support to SIU Medicine. This nurse will support the Employee Health Program which includes disease detection, prevention, and treatment, following up employees’ illnesses and injuries, conducting employee health screening, and promoting a safe work area. This nurse will also support in risk and safety concepts and principles through programs to identify, resolve, report and prevent risk and safety events. This position will promote and engage in the education, implementation, and support of a culture of safety and just culture.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in Illinois.
RN experience in clinical environment with demonstrated experience in risk prevention, patient safety, employee health or infection control. Experience must include, but not limited to, critical incident investigation, regulatory compliance, clinical competency development and education, infection prevention, colleague health, or complaint/grievance management.
Condition of Employment: Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, an out-of-state resident who is hired into this position must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of their start date.
