The Traffic Systems Operations Specialist performs a variety of professional level engineering duties in applying traffic engineering regulations, principals and standards to the design and operations of roadways, roadway traffic control devices and traffic signals including signal timing. The successful candidate may be assigned to train and review the work of other engineering staff of the unit and will perform a full range of technical plans examining work involved in enforcing compliance with modern building codes, regulations, and ordinances.
The ideal candidate should have completion of college level course work leading to completion of a major in civil engineering, or a closely related field AND 2 or more years of experience performing responsible journey-level traffic engineering and signal timing.
