Position Summary:May supervise the daily operation of the HIM Department Trainee Coding Staff. Orient, train, and develop staff to meet proficient competency levels, productivity levels, and quality expectations. Plan, organize, design, implement, and monitor coding initiatives to improve coding quality and reimbursement. Establish and maintain effective communication and collaboration with UNM Medical Group coding staff to coordinate coding quality across the UNM Health Sciences system. Promote correct coding guidelines and coding initiatives, medical record automation, and standardization throughout the enterprise. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and department policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.Related Edu
