Infection Preventionist
Responsibilities: Infection Preventionist (IP) functions as a qualified individual with knowledge of Centers for Disease Control guidelines and definitions of healthcare-associated infections and federal and state regulations. Responsible for the identification, investigation, reporting, prevention and control of healthcare-associated infections among patients and hospital personnel. IP may institute collection of cultures and initiate appropriate isolation precautions Responsible for assisting with in-service programs related to infection prevention and control and other related projects.
