Reyco Granning, LLC is currently seeking a Director of Quality for its Mt. Vernon, MO production facility. This position will report to the President. The Director of Quality will drive activities concerned with development, application, maintenance and improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), presently IATF 16949, along with directing supplier quality personnel to ensure conformance of inbound materials, directing production quality personnel to ensure conformance of outbound products and directing (dotted line) the IATF Program Manager (leader of cross-functional IATF team) in successful execution of audits and certifications. This position is to collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering team on continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality and provide leadership in transforming the Quality Management System and product quality across Reyco Granning.
Responsibilities include working with the IATF Team to develop and improve procedures and forms for all supporting Quality Management System processes; utilizing root cause analysis (Practical Problem Solving or 8D) to address all gaps discovered during internal and external Quality Management audits; participating and supporting root cause analysis (Practical Problem Solving or 8D) to address external and internal quality related problems; using dFMEA and pFMEA tools to determine where the risks are. This position is to actively lead initiatives to lower those risks and protect Reyco from field exposure associated with non-conformance along with establishing quality control plans and using dFMEA and pFMEA, identifying critical control points where poka-yoke is required and/or data collection is necessary; identifying and executing sampling plans; proactively reducing the frequency and costs of control plans as risk levels are lowered. The Director of Quality is to lead team members engaged in measuring, testing, and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability; manage gauges and actively seek cost reduction as it relates to gauge acquisition, maintenance and calibration; follow policies and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met; provide leadership and training for quality auditors; work with customers and customer service to address product/process related quality concerns with focus on ensuring practices are consistent with documented procedures; work closely as needed with production operators, manufacturing engineering, maintenance, sales, engineering, warranty/service, and supply chain along with driving quality improvement as part of everyday efforts.
Qualifications include experience in a fabrication, machining, or assembly facility; demonstrated problem solving skill set and experience; direct experience with IATF or ISO Quality Management Systems; strong statistical background; demonstrated Lean Manufacturing experience; proven continuous improvement experience; customer orientation required. Six Sigma Green / Black belt certification and Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) strongly preferred.
Experience working in an IATF 16949 or ISO 9000 facility along with experience in process improvement, error proofing, dFMEA, pFMEA, APQP, control plans, process flow diagrams, and lean manufacturing are required.
This position requires a four-year Quality Engineering degree or related.
Physical demands include the ability to stand/walk more than 8 hours per day, the ability to work in plant temperatures of 65 – 105 degrees and to be able to lift up to 45 pounds infrequently.
