The Department of Neurology at Columbia University, nationally renowned for research, clinical care, and education, is seeking a full-time neurologist at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level specialized in the area of Hospitalist Neurology. The Columbia Hospitalist Neurology program is a large and vibrant program within the Neurology Department that is an integral part of medical student, resident, and fellow training. The faculty is comprised of nationally revered physicians with diverse clinical backgrounds, that includes medicine, critical care, stroke, neurorehabilitation, neuroinfectious disease, neurophysiology, ethics, quality improvement, and billing and compliance. The position includes clinical responsibilities and experiences at the New York Presbyterian Hospital–Columbia University Medical Center, a nationally prominent tertiary care hospital in Manhattan; New York Presbyterian–Allen Hospital, a community hospital in Manhattan; and New York Presbyterian–Lawrence Hospital, a community hospital in southern Westchester County, New York. Successful applicants will have an academic appointment at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, the medical school of Columbia University, and be eligible for all the Columbia University benefits available for the faculty appointment.
The recruited Neurohospitalist will attend on the Inpatient Neurology Services and the Neurology Consult Services, train residents and medical students, and develop and participate in our robust initiatives for Quality Improvement. The full-time position may combine Neurohospitalist and specialty neurology practice and research, based on the specialty training and research interests of the applicant.
