The University of Illinois Hospital (Hospital) and Health Sciences System (UI Health) seeks an accomplished and dynamic Medical Director for its Oncology Service Line.
This position serves as the executive leader responsible for developing and driving oncology strategies to advance cancer care model strategies and advance excellence in cancer patient care at the Hospital and UI Health. The Medical Director shares overall responsibilities with the Hospital CMO for the successful development and implementation of a dyad business plan at the Hospital and UI Cancer Center outlining the strategic, programmatic, and operational aspects of the service line, with focus on targeted growth of the oncology service line services across the system. Above all, the Medical Director is expected to create and sustain a culture of patient-centeredness emphasizing quality, safety, effectiveness and efficiency.
Candidates must have a record of clinical and/or scholarly achievement consistent with the rank of Associate Professor or Professor (tenure-system/non-tenured track), including a terminal degree of M.D. or equivalent and board-certification in an oncology specialty; experience in cancer research, patient treatment and oncology care; demonstrated success building and managing interdisciplinary clinical service(s); and proven leadership skills with ability to develop and advance clinical service(s) consistent with the organization's mission.
