DescriptionThe Mikedis lab studies how mammals produce sperm. We use mouse genetics, functional genomics, biochemistry, and bioinformatic approaches to understand how spermatogonial stem cells in the testis produce sperm throughout the adult lifespan. In the long term, our work has the potential to impact clinical outcomes for patients with infertility or cancer, and in regenerative medicine.REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIESPerform experiments and record dataFollow established research protocols. Understand the scientific principles involved in the research. Apply those principles to troubleshoot and modify procedures and techniques when appropriate. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory work and experiments. A
