NYU-Langone Hospital – Long Island seeks a faculty physician for our well-established and growing palliative care program in the Division of Palliative Medicine and Bioethics. Our interdisciplinary team is comprised of palliative board-certified physicians, specialty-certified nurse practitioners and specialty-certified social workers, and is responsible for over 1500 inpatient consultations annually. The Division also contains a large and growing ambulatory palliative practice that includes the institution’s Supportive Oncology, Supportive Pulmonary, and Supportive Cardiology Programs including its LVAD program. The Division is also responsible for an ACGME accredited fellowship program in Hospice and Palliative Medicine Principal. Responsibilities for this position include providing palliative medicine consultation to clinically diverse populations in inpatient and outpatient settings and program development to further expand palliative care services. Additional core responsibilities include a faculty role in the fellowship program and the Department of Medicine’s medical residency program. Teaching opportunities in the new NYU-Long Island School of Medicine may be available. The successful candidate will be BC/BE in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, have exceptional clinical and interdisciplinary skills, as well as administrative and academic capabilities.
