The Department of Pediatrics, Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia is actively seeking a board certified/board eligible Pediatrician to join as a full-time faculty member in the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.
The position will provide clinical care for the pediatric patient population in the inpatient setting. Clinical care would include but is not limited to the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of disorders, consultations, acute care, ordering and interpreting lab results, developing treatment plans, and patient/family education. The position will maintain and ensure that relevant patient records are properly updated, and share weekday, weekend, and holiday emergent/after-hours call coverage. Educational responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing mentorship, clinical supervision and consultation to residents/medical students/staff at MCG/AU and develop a more in-depth educational experience for trainees in Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
Comprehensive services are provided in the 154 bed Children’s Hospital of Georgia with the region’s only Level IV NICU and Level 1 PICU. We have a comprehensive group of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists serving children and families from across Georgia and we are a key sub specialty referral center for the southeast. The Children’s Hospital of Georgia is part of the Augusta University Health System which includes a 478-bed medical center, a Medical Office Building with more than 80 outpatient practice sites in one convenient setting.
Successful candidates will have a proven history of excellent clinical skills, involvement with clinical research, and strong desire to be involved with resident teaching. Additionally, candidates should have an MD/DO degree and be board certified/eligible in Pediatrics.
