The Department of Family Medicine (DFM) at the University of Washington offers an outstanding opportunity to join our clinical team and practice at our Harborview Medical Center (HMC) Family Medicine Clinic in Seattle, WA and teach in our Medical Student Education (MSE) and MEDEX Physician Assistants programs. We invite applications for a part-time or full-time Assistant Professor without tenure due to funding (WOT) to join our diverse clinical team of outstanding clinicians, which is central to the role of the health system as a provider of healthcare to diverse and underserved populations and its commitment to providing continuous and high-quality care to people of all racial and economic backgrounds.
Assistant Professors (Without Tenure) are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2023, or soon thereafter.
The full-time base salary range for this position will be: $5,287 - $24,229 per month ($63,444 - $290,752 annually) to be pro-rated based on FTE and commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through the UW Physicians practice plan.

This position expects that the faculty hired will participate in departmental activities for the Department of Family Medicine, including primary care delivery, teaching and scholarly work. They are expected to participate in the teaching mission of the Department, especially as it relates to their clinical work and expertise, which includes mentoring and teaching medical and physician assistant students. This position will work for a portion of time at the Harborview Medical Center (HMC) Family Medicine Clinic, which will include direct primary care and precepting residents. There is also an opportunity to serve as a key member of the care team at our wound care center at UWMC Northwest hospital, dependent upon interest and availability. The position will have the opportunity to serve as a key role in our Medical Student Education Section, developing curriculum, leading programs, teaching and mentoring students.
MD, DO or foreign equivalent
Board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine
Must hold or be eligible for Washington State medical license
Two years experience providing patient care in family medicine
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all 3 steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
