This is an industrial construction role in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Candidates must have prior experience in industrial construction with special consideration for specific pharmaceutical or biotech experience.
The ideal candidate will be have specific Safety Professional experience on pharmaceutical or biotech construction projects. The Safety Professional position requires familiarity with cGMP & cGDP practices as well as cleanroom environments, gowning requirements, special consideration for perform construction work adjacent to operating facilities. The Safety Professional position is meant to serve at the SME for all EH&S needs , as well as local, state (NCDOL) and national (OSHA) requirements and practices.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop project specific safety plan
Develop project specific safety orientation
Assist in implementing the project logistics plan
Assist in developing the numerous rigging and lifting plan
Job hazard analysis planning & special permitting
Conduct safety training and maintains the records of those activities
Maintain and reports safe work hours
Maintain all OSHA required documentation and postings
Verify that all contractors are fulfilling their OSHA requirements
Monitor work for compliance with all Client EH&S requirements
Perform, compile, distribute and close the weekly safety audits reports
Perform incident investigations and generate reporting
Attend and participate in weekly project status review meetings
Lead the Safety portion of the weekly project status review meetings
Coordinate work with Client EH&S and Safety
Provide supplemental Construction Management in field

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering
Familiarity with pharmaceutical processes
Familiarity with process control
Excellent written and oral skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience in construction of any of the following:
1st Aid/CPR/AED certified or trainer certification
OSHA 500/501 certification
Certified Crane Inspector
HAZCOM/HAZWOPER
Other OSHA Specializations including:
LOTO
Confined Space ENTRY
Scaffolds
Fall Protection
Respiratory Protection
Blood-Borne Pathogens
Pandemic Preparedness
others
Special consideration also give for additional familiarity with construction of the following operations/areas:
