The City of Salinas invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Associate Engineer. The current vacancies are in the Water, Waste and Energy and Traffic/Transportation divisions of the Public Works department. This recruitment may also be utilized to establish a list of qualified candidates for future Associate Engineer vacancies in Public Works.
The Associate Engineer assists in the oversight of a division and management of consultant contracts, programs, and assigned personnel. Coordinates the engineering, planning, design, construction, and operation activities between multiple departments and agencies.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or other related engineering discipline.
Experience: Three years of engineering experience, including one year of supervisory experience.
Licenses and Certifications: A valid State of California Driver’s License; must be a registered Civil Engineer in the State of California.
