Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia is currently searching for a Compliance Auditor to join our team.
The Compliance Auditor’s primary responsibility is to plan, schedule, and execute audits of both individual registrants and registrant firms to confirm compliance with the requirements under the Professional Governance Act, Regulations, and Bylaws of Engineers and Geoscientists BC. Auditors are also responsible for completing reports summarizing the findings and recommendations of the compliance audits. This will be done both individually and as part of a compliance audit team.
We are looking for auditors with an engineering and/or geoscience background who have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, flourish in a people-facing role, and enjoy working as part of a strong team. Ideally, the successful candidate will be located in the Northern BC area and will be working primarily remotely, with on-site visits to individual registrants and registrant firms as needed.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Assist in the planning, delivery, and maintenance of the Regulation of Firms Compliance Auditing Program.
Assist in the planning, delivery and maintenance of the Individual Compliance Auditing and Practice Review Programs.
Plan and conduct registrant firm compliance audits (100-150 per year) and individual registrant compliance audits.
Prepare and submit registrant firm compliance audit reports and individual registrant compliance audit reports.
Assist in processing and following up on corrective actions identified during firm and individual compliance audits.
Provide advice and ongoing support to individual registrants with respect to individual audits.
Assist the improvement of the registrant firm and individual registrant compliance audit programs by obtaining feedback from auditees and identifying areas for refinement.
Contribute to the identification and implementation of continual improvement of policies and procedures.
Provide advice and ongoing support to firms with respect to Permit to Practice requirements.
Deliver Regulation of Firms Permit to Practice training, as required.
Additional tasks to support the Professional Practice, Standards, and Development department, as required.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
A Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science or Geoscience is required.
Must be a registered professional with, or eligible to be registered with, Engineers and Geoscientists BC. (P.Eng., Eng.L., P.Geo., or Geo.L.)
ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor, or similar certification, is preferred
5 years experience working in industry as an engineer or geoscientist.
5 years experience writing and submitting formal technical reports.
2 years experience auditing organizations for compliance to standards or regulation
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work in a professional and collaborative team environment
Experience with Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
