Who we are looking for:
ASCO is seeking a highly motivated Measure Development Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with multi-disciplinary teams of content experts to develop, test, and maintain measures determined by the Society’s Strategic Plan and goals of the department.
Responsibilities include conducting literature/evidence reviews, drafting new measure specifications, coordinating measure testing activities, monitoring and evaluating measure deployment, identifying publication opportunities, and maintaining ASCO measures and associated specifications in the Measures Library.

What you will do:
Conduct systematic literature/evidence review for potential new measure development
Draft new measure specifications and maintain current measure narratives in conjunction with panel volunteers and relevant internal ASCO staff
Coordinate measure testing activities around reliability, validity, and risk adjustment for new and existing measures
Monitor, support, and evaluate measure deployment across ASCO platforms and external reporting programs
Identify and coordinate publication opportunities related to measures
Maintain ASCO measures and associated specifications in the Measures Library, including Quality Payment Program (QPP) and Consensus-Based Entity (CBE) annual maintenance and re-endorsement activities
Participate in measure development streamlining and continuous quality improvement initiatives and standardization of processes related to quality measure development, measure maintenance, and other ad hoc measure development activities
Coordinate and support Technical Expert Panels (TEPs) and other related working groups
Attend external quality measurement-related meetings and conferences as appropriate
What you will need in order to be successful:
Bachelor’s degree in health management, public health, health research, social science, or equivalent degree
3 – 4 years of experience with clinical quality measures
Knowledge, understanding, and application of principles and practices of quality measurement
Ideal candidates will also contribute:
Advanced degree in health management, public health, health research, social science, or equivalent degree
Experience within a quality measures/maintenance/implementation environment in a non-profit or professional medical society
Knowledge, understanding, and application of performance measurement, quality improvement, and project management principles and practices
Excellent communication skills, including written, and comfort communicating confidently and facilitating discussion with both staff and physician volunteers
Comfort discussing clinical and/or scientific topics even without personal domain knowledge
Strong measures and quality improvement knowledge and analytical skills
Excellent problem-solving, analytical and research skills with ability to bring forward new ideas and solutions when working with internal and external stakeholders
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and multi-task
Excellent organization skills and high attention to detail
Self-managed and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities
Fast-paced office environment with extended periods seated or standing at a desk.
