Position Summary: The Senior Quality Program Manager is responsible to develop and implement the Quality and Performance Improvement Program for the assigned services and location. This includes partnering to develop, implement and organize the annual and multi-year plan to assure quality, patient safety, regulatory readiness, and meeting the specific standards for the setting(s) of care.The SQPM provides advanced level of expert knowledge regarding clinical knowledge and top national and regional performance to the planning, performance assessment and best practices in the clinical domain.
Demonstrates proficient to advanced knowledge and application of performance improvement tools and techniques including ID-PDSA, accepted performance improvement methods, and High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles and practices. Role models principles, practices, and methods. Proficient knowledge and skills of health data analytics. Proficient to advanced knowledge and skills in clinical quality review, patient safety indicators, and performance assessment and identification of patterns and trends. Proficient to advanced clinical knowledge of electronical health record tools and documentation to assess and demonstrate quality and safety. Proficient in gathering and assessing the patient and family voice in quality and safety work. Develops partnerships with operational partners and provides expertise for clinical standards, performance improvement, facilitation and developing sustainable solutions; this includes coordinating projects, and improvement activities as assigned and prioritized. Demonstrates proficient to advanced level of clinical expertise in a specific or specialty area of practice. Position requires ability to work independently, analyze clinical situations, exercise judgement and timely escalation of sensitive and/or high-risk occurrences and to assigned Director. The QPM, Clinical, works as part of an assigned facility/business unit team and as part of the Quality Management System Team. The QPM, Clinical assures that QM System standards, safety and clinical standards and best practices are implemented in the assigned areas to support high reliability, efficiency, and achievement of strategic goals. The QPM, Clinical is flexible and able to adjust the percentage of time spent in assessment, review, PI, reporting, etc. will be determined by the specific needs of the assigned area.
Minimum Requirements: Five (5) to Eight (8) years of experience in a professional or technical role/function in a healthcare or related setting as applicable to a clinical specialty/service line Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in a quality, regulatory readiness, performance improvement or patient safety role Consideration of equivalency of prior nurse or clinical supervisory or management roles. Proficient in data use, analysis, reporting and PI Tools (PDSA, etc.) Competent use of computerized information systems (email, MS Office including Excel, Epic, healthcare data and benchmarking systems, etc.) required
Education/Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse in Washington State or licensure related to field of clinical expertise required Bachelors degree required, in a health care field required Masters degree in health care field strongly preferred, preference to applicants with Masters preparation Quality or patient safety certification, such as CPHQ or CPPS, preferred
