Supports manufacturing by analyzing current production operations with an emphasis on proposing and designing automation systems to increase throughput, reduction in costs, and a strong focus on safety. Hands-on troubleshooting of existing operations to eliminate recurring problems. Assist with large capital implementation projects utilizing sound engineering practices.
Job Duties:
Lead or assist two or more simultaneous projects.
Own responsibility for technical project leadership as directed.
Gain new knowledge of automation technology and solutions.
In conjunction with senior staff, use engineering knowledge to architect automation solutions.
Spearhead technology research to deliver state-of-the-art processes and design concepts.
Work across multiple facilities with separate stakeholder teams and processes.
Work with project managers to set and manage goals, deliverables, and timelines.
Communicate project status to management.
Build payback models and assist in writing capital requests.
Use existing Marmon automation implementation process to guide your workflow.
Update and improve Marmon processes as you learn.
Attend trade shows and vendor visits to become a rounded industry expert on current state of the art technologies and implementation strategies.
Hands-on prototyping of technologies in the Marmon automation lab as project require.
Prior work experience in operations project management, automation project management, or similar areas – including intern or co-op assignments – desirable
Comfortable in ambiguous situations where requirements may be unclear
Comfortable in factory environments
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
