This position will focus primarily on clinical genetics patient care at The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute and also telehealth care for the James Network Sites. Duties and responsibilities will include genetic counseling for cancer-related patient referrals, risk assessment, coordination of necessary genetic testing, results interpretation and disclosure and appropriate follow up. Position will include mostly remote clinical encounters with James network sites and a mix of in-person and remote genetic counseling visits with patients at the main OSU-CCC/James Cancer Hospital campus in Columbus. Travel to affiliate sites may be required but will not exceed 5% per year. Educational responsibilities include teaching genetic counseling graduate students, medical students, residents and fellows during clinical rotations. This position participates in Division of Human Genetics and Department of Internal Medicine multidisciplinary committees and meetings as well as service to the profession and university.

Clinical faculty (regardless of rank) - faculty positions within the university that are not tenure track and not eligible for tenure; on a fixed term contract.   Persons with the title of professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical, assistant professor-clinical and instructor-clinical. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty department and, as appropriate, regional campus; Clinical faculty are teacher/practitioners and will be engaged primarily in teaching activities.  These faculty normally have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field or equivalent experience.

Required: Master’s level degree in Genetic Counseling required; completion of an accredited program in genetic counseling, eligible for genetic counseling licensure in Ohio from the State of Ohio Medical Board; board eligible or certified genetic counselor required.

These can range from bleeding and blot-clotting disorders to diseases of the skin, kidney, lung and eye. The Neuroscience Genetics and Genomics Program focuses on neuromuscular disorders, but also provides consultation for a wide array of neurological conditions.
