The role you’ll contribute:The Quality and Performance Improvement Specialist is responsible for implementation, management and maintenance of a comprehensive program of data collection and analysis of clinical care for internal and external benchmarking to improve patient outcomes and hospital processes.Identifies opportunities for process improvement and collaborates with leadership and direct care providers to advance quality initiatives.Participates in QAPI and PI teams as requested

·Manages Physician Quality Improvement Programs
oCoordinates data collection, monitoring, and sharing for assigned quality programs.
oServes as a resource for physicians related to quality improvement activities, including physician peer review and professional practice (OPPE/FPPE) evaluation.
oCollaborates with physician leadership to improve processes and outcomes.
oLeads and/or facilitates multidisciplinary teams and committees.
oReports quality updates to physician hospital leaders.
·Facilitates Performance Improvement Efforts
oUtilizes structured performance improvement tools to identify performance improvement needs.
oPrioritizes improvement efforts and coordinates with hospital leaders to implement necessary changes.
oCollaborates with partners across the organization to align efforts with strategic priorities.
oFacilitates improvement efforts as assigned and maintains accountability for oversight of those efforts.
oMaintains documentation of performance improvement efforts for reporting to hospital leaders and regulatory agencies.
·General Duties and Responsibilities
oCollects, aggregates, analyzes, summarizes and reports quality data for hospital organizational performance and physician performance as indicated.
oDevelops data reports for projects, committees, hospital departments, and medical staff departments as delegated
oUtilizes the Performance Improvement Model to lead others in performance improvement efforts as directed by the Quality Manager.
oParticipates in hospital-wide outcomes and quality improvement initiatives.
Closely coordinates with all levels of hospital staff, from C-suite to frontline, to identify needs for improvement and implement processes for change
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing, respiratory therapy, laboratory science, or another healthcare-related profession
3 years of recent experience in an acute care setting
Experience working closely with physicians and other licensed independent providers
Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina or applicable licensure/certifications for Respiratory Therapy/Laboratory Science/other health care profession
