The Department of Industrial and Operations Engineering (IOE) at the University of Michigan (U-M) invites applications for faculty positions at all levels (assistant, associate, and full professor) for an appointment beginning September 2024. Our department is multidisciplinary, balancing theoretical and methodological research and applied research interests. We are looking for candidates who will excel in an environment where they are committed to excellence in graduate and undergraduate education, establish an independent, externally-funded research program in their areas of expertise, and embrace the global outlook, leadership focus, and service commitment that permeates the culture of Michigan Engineering.

Industrial and operations engineers use data to analyze, design and optimize — improving decision making and shaping systems comprised of humans, machines, and processes.
