The Health and Human Kinetics (HHK) department at Ohio Wesleyan University is seeking applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in Exercise Science at the Assistant Professor rank. We are especially interested in candidates committed to excellent undergraduate teaching and to developing a vibrant research program that involves undergraduates of all experience levels and from diverse backgrounds, including those who are traditionally underrepresented in the sciences.
The HHK department serves students across concentrations in exercise science, sports management, and nutrition. Our mission focuses on evidence-based teaching and a student-centered curriculum where students are engaged in exploring current and emerging theoretical content, and applying that content in closely-mentored contexts in the areas of human movement, sport, nutrition, and personal and public health. Our students and faculty value working with diverse populations in a variety of contexts to enhance the quality of life for residents of the local community through outreach efforts.
This job is part of a cluster of positions with which Ohio Wesleyan seeks to further diversify its curriculum and faculty. This faculty cohort will join an educational community that values equity and interdisciplinarity and fosters close working relationships with students through our signature program in experiential learning, The OWU Connection. Incoming faculty will be provided with mentoring, professional development funds, and opportunities to connect with faculty across the Ohio 5 and GLCA consortia.
