NORPAC is looking for a Senior Environmental Engineer to join our team.
Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Lead the mill’s air quality program including TV AOP, PSD and minor NSR, greenhouse gas emissions, emission testing, and refrigerants/ODS
Support the mill’s NPDES wastewater and stormwater program including SPCC and SWPPP
Support the mill’s solid/hazardous waste program including RCRA/Washington state dangerous wastes, universal wastes, and electronic wastes
Support other mill’s environmental programs including EPCRA/CERCLA, SARA Tier II, and TRI
Coordinate and communicate with operating, maintenance, and engineering departments about environmental concerns and needed support
Perform and document various mill environmental compliance inspections
Interface with regulatory agencies during inspections and other routine requests
Prepare a variety of regulatory reports that include data collection, calculations, accurate recordkeeping, and adherence to reporting deadlines
Assist with mill’s environmental training program
Perform other duties as assigned
Required/Preferred Qualifications and Key Skills:
BS or MS degree in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, environmental sciences, pulp & paper science, or industrial engineering and/or equivalent education/experience
Five years or more of industrial experience is required. Washington state industrial experience is preferred. Experience in pulp and paper industry or heavy manufacturing is also preferred
Environmental Management System experience is preferred
Highly safety conscious with the ability to lead and influence improvements

Able to collaboratively and effectively work with others to achieve mill goals and objectives

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
