Job Description
The Loudoun County Department of Health is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Strategic Planning/Quality Improvement/Workforce Development Coordinator.
Under the general direction of the division manager this critical position will:
Manage the department-wide strategic planning process. Design and develop a planning process that engages staff, incorporates metrics and attainable goals, and is communicated to all necessary stakeholders.
Oversee and lead the department workforce development efforts. Conduct needs assessments and create, maintain, and monitor the Workforce Development Plan for the department.
Conduct research, develop, and maintain the Quality Improvement Plan for the department. Develop and lead quality improvement projects. Conduct strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis. Conduct staff training and engage staff in quality improvement projects.
Develop communications plans for strategic planning, workforce development, and quality improvement processes and projects.
May perform other essential job functions specific to the position and department assignment.
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of applicable codes, standards, laws, regulations, licensing, and ordinances relative to assigned projects and a knowledge of Department policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will also have strong project management skills, including planning, developing, directing, implementing, and evaluating projects and programs and the ability to teach and train adults, develop curriculum, instructional design, and conduct training assessments.
In addition, the candidate will have the ability to analyze operations and develop options and recommendations for improvement and have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to speak in public settings to a variety of audiences and prepare reports.
Bachelor's degree in a field related to the assigned program or department; five (5) years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
One or more certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Six Sigma, Agile, or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).
