Job Summary:
JOB SUMMARY
Research in the Department of Neurology, Stroke Division, spans the entire breadth of stroke care, from prevention to post-stroke management. As part of a large, interdepartmental team that manages over 1,000 stroke cases per year, the Vanderbilt Stroke Division can operate at the forefront of this rapidly evolving area of neurological research. Faculty members actively participate in many national clinical trials and create novel approaches to understanding the brain, thus bringing the latest advances in stroke medicine to patients. The Stroke Division regularly receives funding from such institutions as the National Institutes of Health, PCORI Foundation, the pharmaceutical industry, grants and more. Current areas of clinical research interest include acute ischemic stroke treatment, vasospasm after subarachnoid hemorrhage, and endovascular aneurysm treatment. Translational research revolves around endovascular models of intra-arterial chemotherapy for retinoblastoma, and endovascular thrombectomy device development.
The Research Programs Manager serves as program manager for clinical research studies, including but not limited to: focusing on and implementing recruitment goals, participating in the clinical study start-up, maintenance, and close-out, supervising/training a team of clinical research staff, communicating performance expectations and conducting performance evaluations, and monitoring assurance standards, programs, and procedures within the team. This requires a flexible schedule which may include some evenings/weekends.

Qualifications
*A bachelor's degree and at least five years' prior experience in a clinical related field required; Masters degree and previous team management preferred
*Highly motivated self-starter with strong communication and presentation skills
*Ability to lead, interact, work well with others, and take initiative
*Ability to independently identify impediments, problem-solve and develop effective solutions
*Possess exemplary organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to track the workflow of numerous projects and prioritize responsibilities
