The Grants and Sponsored Programs Manager coordinates and monitors the pre-award planning, proposal, and post-award grant activities in collaboration with Principal Investigators, and Research Grants Accounting. Activities include but are not limited to application submissions, budget development, budget monitoring and adjustments, time and effort coordination and monitoring, subaward agreements, invoicing, and coordinating activities with sponsors.
1. Partner with Investigators and staff across all units of the organization to develop and submit grant proposals to external funding agencies.
2. Assess the effectiveness of research administration processes including benchmarking, tracking progress toward goals, and measuring outcomes.
Prepares and compiles award documents and electronic records. Manages multiple grant budgets and provides support to Principal Investigators for all aspects of grant fund management.
Coordinates requests for consulting agreements, subawards and other contracts.
Monitors spending and tracks grant expenses. Maintains and provides current award balances and assists when requested on projecting spending trends to ensure Principal Investigators have necessary information to make informed spending decisions.
Provides guidance on budget and financial policies to ensure adherence to institutional policies and standards and assist with the organization and preparation of all components of grant applications.
Responsible for coordination of post-award activities in collaboration with Accounting and assures compliance with institutional and federal policies.
Provides on-going financial oversight of grants and contracts including but not limited to: tracking of funds, sub-awards, evaluating expenditures, preparation and submission of progress and final reports.
Manages effort tracking and resource allocation to ensure compliance with time and effort policies.
Prepares regular and special internal reports for Principal Investigators and grant project leads. Assists in preparing and ensures timely submission of external reports for sponsored projects per required sponsor rules and regulations. Reviews sub-recipient reporting and invoicing for accuracy.
