Nature Of Work An employee in this class is responsible for performing a variety of engineering assignments of more than average difficulty, which may include development, construction, inspection, or maintenance of projects, as well as electrical, right-of-way, or traffic engineering activities. Under direction, employee exercises reasonable initiative and independent judgment in selecting work methods and formulating recommendations to meet program needs, objectives, and goals. Employee may either function as project engineer or be required to apply a high degree of technical knowledge and skill in principles and practices of plant engineering and maintenance, hydraulics and hydrogeology, stormwater or transportation modeling.
