The Chair of the Department of Pediatrics and Women's Health is the immediate supervisor and the academic and administrative leader of the faculty and staff in the department. The chair derives responsibility and authority from the Dean, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. Through his/her authority over the departmental faculty and staff, the chair is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department, for long-term strategic development of the department, and for the judicious use of all resources allocated to the department. The chair has authority over all departmental budgets and the faculty-related expenditures for the clinical enterprise, distribution of departmental space, and use of departmental capital equipment.
