Job Summary:
Urban Engineers, Inc. is seeking an experienced building Structural Engineer for light industrial, commercial, institutional, aviation, and/or rail infrastructure projects for our national design practice. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of steel and concrete design and analysis tasks for a wide variety of building and structure types. The successful candidate will work in a multi-discipline team environment with opportunity to grow with the team and with the company.
Structural Engineer Responsibilities:
Prepare or check structural design calculations for a wide variety of structural projects including light industrial, commercial, aviation, and rail-transit projects
Contribute towards design development of complex building structural projects in collaboration with an array of specialty design disciplines and architects
Identify and understand the technical requirements of design projects and implement sound engineering principles to generate solutions
Identify, interpret, and apply appropriate design codes and standards to satisfy owner and jurisdictional requirements
Assess the condition of existing facilities and prepare remediation recommendations and plans
Generate design plans and supervise production of contract documents
Support production of project-related technical specifications, construction cost estimates, staging plans, and construction schedules
Obtain relevant education and training to develop special expertise in a selected discipline as needed.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil or Structural Engineering is required. Master of Science (MS) in Civil or Structural Engineering is preferred.
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) is required.
7-15 years of structural design experience is preferred.
Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD and frame analysis software such as RISA, RAM, or STAAD.pro is preferred
Proficient communication, interpersonal, and management skills are required
