This is a nationwide position responsible for managing Quality Assurnace in assigned locations across the country. The selected individual can reside anywhere in the U.S. so long as it is in close proximity of a major airport.*
The Regional Quality Manager is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through regular site visits. This position will be responsible for quality outcomes for multiple manufacturing facilities, accomplishing product and process compliance by working with site quality and production management. This role will be a strong liaison between corporate quality and manufacturing leadership.
Develop, implement, and analyze quality metrics
Drive continuous improvement of quality outcomes and metrics by working with site quality and production management
Implement and maintain use of modern, statistical quality tools such as SPC, Capability analysis, Gage R&R, etc.
Improve manufacturing process capability, leading to improvement in customer satisfaction, scrap, and rework
Assist sites in robust problem solving using Root Cause analysis, Corrective Action, and Containment activities. Train site personnel in these processes. Verify and validate results of Corrective Action activities
Assist manufacturing in APQP and Dart Production Approval Process methodologies and activities
Assist manufacturing in ensuring that launch and change activities are robust
Actively train and mentor site quality managers and personnel
Interface with corporate quality and manufacturing leadership in strategic planning activities. Develop tactical plans in support of these strategies and execute plans. Monitor progress and take action as needed
Support the deployment of corporate quality systems, processes, policies, and procedures at the site level
Support the deployment of corporate GMP activities and practices at the site level
Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience managing quality or production in a manufacturing environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in engineering, quality or related technical field of study, preferred
Comprehensive knowledge and experience using (at both a management and individual user level) modern, statistical quality tools such as SPC, Capability Analysis, Gage R&R
Understanding of the principles of variation (measurement, analysis, reduction, etc.)
Comprehensive knowledge and experience in Corrective Action methods, principles, and actions
Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in root cause analysis tools (5-why, Fishbone, variation analysis, etc.)
Experience with statistical software (Minitab, Statistica, etc.)
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, cost analysis and budgeting, people management, and leadership guidance
Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams, and to explain technical issues
Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create basic reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time domestically and internationally
Experience managing quality in a large facility or previous responsibility for multiple facilities, preferred
Experience in an industry such as automotive, aerospace, pharmaceutical, medical device, etc. with advanced quality techniques, preferred
Paper converting, chemical/plastics processing and/or packaging industrial experience, preferred
Lean manufacturing experience, preferred
ASQ Certified Quality Manager, Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, and/or Certified Quality Engineer, preferred
