Coordinates the claims activities for the Risk Management department. Reviews, analyzes and investigates actual as well as potential risks. Coordinates procedures, program and other methods to avoid, reduce, or minimize losses. Provides consultation to all hospital departments regarding Professional and General Liability claims. Works with all insurance carriers associated with PPHS, directs the information provided to them and works closely with legal counsel regarding claims and other legal activities, and exposures. Generates numerous reports/studies. Serves in various capacities on numerous committees, and subcommittees. Works closely with attorneys representing patients/complainants to negotiate settlements for both professional and general liability claims when warranted as well as individual patients/complainants to negotiate settlement of claims to prevent excessive monetary loss and health system exposure. Provides education and outreach to multiple departments on incident reporting and loss management. Serves as a resource for incident investigation and mitigation.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
2 - 3 years Clinical nursing experience (Required)
2 - 3 years Hospital administration and hospital operations (Preferred)
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURES
Required Certifications/Licensures: Registered Nurse (RN) with current Georgia license
