Perform job duties in compliance with site safety rules, with the intent of supporting an injury-free work environment. Assist the plant manager with the implementation of the site safety systems. Notify the plant manager of any safety systems malfunctions or violations.
Demonstrate leadership and commitment to the site quality management system through personal accountability, systems integration, and risk-based thinking.
Obtain, analyze, and coordinate corrective action, on significant deviations from quality standards. Effectively communicates relevant information to the management team.
Actively assist peer managers in providing education on quality concepts and methods to their employees.
Participate in the review of work procedures, instructions, SOPs, and other documents to ensure that the customers' quality requirements are met, both for current and new customers.
Strive for continuous improvement in overall defect-reduction; monitor defect-reduction procedure effectiveness and implement appropriate adjustments.
Communicate with customer representatives for quality related issues and concerns via email, virtual meetings, or in person; timely communicates with customers on open or pending action items.
Work with the Global Quality Director, Site Plant Manager, and front-line managers to troubleshoot issues on the production floor and in the field.
Ensure that supplier quality problems are investigated, trends are tracked, and issues resolved.
Maintain ISO9001, FSC, PEFC, and customer quality systems and complete audits to maintain certification, qualification, and continuous improvement.
Establish and track departmental goals and objectives that provide world-class quality and technical services performance to the organization.
Annually support the preparation of the department budget.
Plan and coordinate work; train, monitor, and yearly evaluate quality staff performance: counsel, records and discipline all supervised employees, as needed; ensure that all team members participate in company directed efforts for self-development and improved performance.
Able to hire and terminate or make recommendations to hire/term subordinates.

THE QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER WILL HAVE:
Bachelor’s degree with 5 or more years’ experience working as a Quality Manager in a manufacturing environment; textile manufacturing is preferred.
Experience with manufacturing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software systems.
Experience with developing and/or maintaining an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system or equivalent (i.e., TS16949).
Experience as a Senior Internal Auditor or Quality Auditor with the ability to develop effective audit plans and write audit reports; ASQ Quality Auditor certification is a plus.
Working knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, FSC, and PEFC standards.
Possesses certificate of Six Sigma education, minimum Green Belt; Black Belt is a plus.
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (i.e. 6S, Kaizen, waste elimination).
Proven ability to train employees on the effective use of problem-solving techniques, including root cause analysis methods (5 Why, Fishbone, etc.) and corrective action determination and validation.
Good understanding of Statistical Process Control charts and process capability.
Strong Microsoft Office skills (Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Strong leadership skills.
Strong communication skills – ability to effectively converse with peer managers, production operators, upper management, customers, and suppliers.
Able to maintain a professional demeanor, even in times of stressful situations.
