Post-doctoral scientist - Functional Genomics
Department of Genetics and Genome Sciences Case Western Reserve University Cleveland, Ohio. USA Regulatory interactions of ETS transcription factors. Our goal is to determine the mechanisms of cross-talk between the epithelial-selective ETS-family transcription factors EHF and ELF5. These factors are encoded by neighboring genes located at the cystic fibrosis (CF) modifier region on chr11p13, which is associated with CF lung disease severity. EHF and ELF5 are candidate targets of the disease-associated SNPs within the non-coding regions of the modifier region. Both factors have pivotal roles in maintaining epithelial integrity and regulate multiple processes relevant to lung disease (Swahn et al., J. Cell. Mol. Med. 2019
